Dr Daniela Semedo is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and a University Lecturer with over 18 years of international experience across clinical, hospital, and academic settings. Raised in Portugal and trained in both Portugal and the United Kingdom, she has practiced in Portugal, India, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, developing a culturally informed and globally grounded clinical approach.

She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Edinburgh, specialising in early detection and intervention in psychosis. Dr Semedo also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. She is licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and is a member of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists (OPP), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA).

Dr Semedo has extensive clinical experience working with preteens, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of expertise include trauma- and stress-related disorders, anxiety disorders, attachment and interpersonal difficulties, ADHD across the lifespan, depressive disorders, obsessive–compulsive and related disorders, personality disorders, psychotic spectrum disorders, and somatic symptom-related conditions.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Semedo is a university lecturer, researcher, and certified clinical supervisor, actively involved in the training and supervision of future and practicing Clinical Psychologists. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and relational, drawing on evidence-based models including Mentalization-Based Treatment, Solution-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, and third-wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapies such as ACT, CFT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.
